Frédéric D. Oberland
Composer, multi-instrumentalist & photographer, Frédéric D. Oberland finds himself at the crossroads of image and sound, favouring a synesthetic approach. Oberland has been leading the Oiseaux-Tempête collective for over ten years, lying somewhere between avant-rock and free jazz, repetitive music and electronics.
Founding member of the post-anything bands FOUDRE! and Le Réveil des Tropiques, he's also performing solo and composing soundtracks for cinema and installation art.
Collaborating with a wide range of talents including versatile musicians, film and video makers, photographers and visual artists, writers and poets, his musical and photographic contributions have been released on international labels and publishing houses such as Sub Rosa, ZamZamRec, IIKKI, Hallow Ground, Sun/Sun, Halogénure, Gizeh Records, Miasmah, Constellation Records, Flau, Music Fear Satan, Les Inaperçus, Ruptured, Gazzar(r)a/VoxxoV, Consouling Sounds.
Part of 2022 Creative Europe’s Shape + Platform for innovative music and audiovisual art, Frédéric D. Oberland is co-curating since 2018 the NAHAL Recordings avant-garde imprint alongside producer Mondkopf.
