Seb Gibelin studied music and trumpet from a young age, at the Vitry-sur-Seine conservatory (Paris suburb).
Between 1997 and 2002, he performs behind the decks of many Parisian bars and major clubs under the avatar of JETSEB (Rex Club, Queen, Gibus, What’s Up bar, Skeud Bar), and on weekly residencies at L’Enfer, Folies Pigalle, and Mixer bar. He makes contacts with the San Francisco house music scene with whom he successfully interacts. During this period, he shares decks with Jack de Marseille, Martin Solveig, D'julz, Jef K, Freddy, Gilda, DJ Wild, Charles Schilling, Didier Allyne, Seb Bromberger, Paco, Blaise, Phil Weeks, Marshall Jefferson, Carl Craig, Sandy Rivera (KOT), Alona, Joshua aka Iz, DJ Rasoul, Hector Moralez, Mark E-Quark, Solar, Tee Cardaci, JP Soul, Hesohi…
He is self-taught and passionate about creating music, and works on his own productions. He is mainly influenced by jazz, funk, electro, house, fusion and soul music. • He is signed by the labels Nordic Trax (Vancouver), Om Records (San Francisco) for the Blue Morning EP, from which Popcorn (tracklisted by Derrick Carter on Live at Om) was extracted, and Robsoul recordings (Paris) for the EP Robsoul 05 (with Phil Weeks) in 2004. • In 2022, he releases VORTEX, his first solo LP (9 tracks), under the name of Seb Gibelin on his own independent label Assemblage. This mainly instrumental album, features house, acid jazz, and down tempo. • In 2023, he is invited by Follentez Records and Editions Dargent, on the 4th opus of their compilation dedicated to the Tour de France, L'Echappée Belle, Une histoire du Tour de France en Musique with Les Rayons. • At the end of 2023, Insomniac EP (3 tracks) is released on the Assemblage label, and that marks Seb’s return as an electronic music DJ producer to his first inspirations, deep house music.
Finally back to the DJing scene in 2022, he is invited by AudiophilHouse at PCJ-PCE, by Grand-Ecart at the Péniche Cinéma, by The-Script.Club and performs as a DJ resident at ZoZoo Bar, and Zéro-Zéro (Grand-Ecart management). During this period, he shared decks with Vito, Phil Weeks, Laetitia Katapult, Mathilde Rocaboy, Tolouse Low Trax, James Dean Brown, Beux-Prere, Ark & Pit, Gibs, Kermit D33, Mr.Smiff, Didier Allyne, Alternativ3…
